Chennai, September 19 – The trailer of actor Vikram’s upcoming Tamil magnum opus I, which was unveiled on Monday, has crossed over 3.8 million views on YouTube at the time of this report going live.
“We have not witnessed such a huge pickup for any trailer. I will set new benchmarks across film industries and we are proud to be associated with it,” Ashok Parwani, head – South, Sony Music India, said in a statement.
Directed by Shankar, I has been reportedly made on a budget of over Rs. 150 crore. It also features Amy Jackson and Upen Patel in important roles.
The film’s soundtrack, which has music by AR Rahman, was recently unveiled in the presence of Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger. Weta Workshop, the company behind Peter Jackson’s film trilogy The Lord of the Rings, has worked on the digital make-up and background arts for the film.
