NEW DELHI, October 10- E-visa facilities will be launched in nine airports in India this month to provide a major boost to tourism, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
The Electronic Travel Authorisation (e-Visa) facility will be implemented at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Trivandrum and Kochi airports in the first phase and extended to other airports in future.
Government sources said necessary infrastructure is being put in place and the facility’s launch date will be decided soon.E-visa facilities will be extended to visitors from the US, South Korea,Japan, Singapore, New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Finland, Myanmar,Vietnam, Cambodia, Luxembourg and Laos.
