NewDelhi, March 30 – “The bindi on my forehead, the ring on my finger adding your surname to mine, they are ornaments. They can be replaced. My love for you cannot. So treasure that…” You may get goose bumps when you hear Deepika Padukone say this and much more on the independence of a woman’s choices in a short film titled My Choice.
Featuring 99 women from different walks of life, the two-minute-34-second video is directed by Homi Adajania, with whom Deepika worked in Cocktail and Finding Fanny. The black-and-white video sees the 29-year-old actress call for a change in the caged mindset of men.
She asks people to stop passing judgments on women for their choice of attire, profession, sexual orientation or even the way in which they live their life. Other known faces in the video include Nimrat Kaur, Adhuna Akhtar, Zoya Akhtar and Vogue India’s Fashion Director Anaita Shroff Adajania.
