KUALA LUMPUR, April 9 – The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah visited the grave of Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis at the Heroes Mausoleum at the National Mosque, here Thursday.
The Ruler arrived at 9.10 am, greeted by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein and Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob.
The Sultan later joined a tahlil session led by Pahang State Mufti Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Osman.
Also present were his children Tengku Puteri Lela Wangsa Tengku Tan Sri Meriam and Tengku Muda Pahang Tengku Abdul Rahman.
Jamaluddin’s widow, Puan Sri Dr Kalsom Ismail and his son, Ikhwan Hafiz were present, as well as Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim and Pahang state exco members.
Jamaluddin, who was the member of Parliament for Rompin and PR1MA Malaysia Corporation chairman, was one of the six people killed when the Dauphin AS365N2 helicopter they were travelling in crashed in a rubber estate in Kampung Sungai Pening, Semenyih, Selangor at 4.55 pm last Saturday.
Also killed were the Prime Minister’s principal private secretary Datuk Azlin Alias, Jamaluddin’s bodyguard Razakan Seran, businessman Datuk Tan Huat Seang, pilot Captain Clifford William Fournier and his friend, Aidana Baizieva, a Kyrgyzstan national. They were on their way from Pekan, Pahang to Kuala Lumpur after attending the wedding reception of the Prime Minister’s daughter, Nooryana Najwa Najib.
