New Delhi, April 17 – According to a research submitted to AppleInsider, Apple will be producing around 2.3 million units by next month. According to the report around 85 per cent of the orders will come for the sport edition while the steel version will only get 15 per cent of the orders. The Gold Edition which goes up to $17,000 will only get 1 per cent of the orders.
The person behind this research, Kuo Ming is popular due to his accurate predictions of the Cupertino Giant’s business moves. He predicts that the Watch will get the maximum number of orders in the month of June, which can cross the mark of 2.5 million units.
There are a few limitations the Cupertino giant is facing which can cause hindrances in delivering the high demand. The Taptic Engine, manufactured by Honk-Kong based AAC, is responsible for the small vibrations on the Apple Watch. They are finding it difficult to follow the stringent requirements.
The vibrator has to be more precise than the iPhone 6’s but it also has to maintain the small form-factor. The displays for the Watch is solely being supplied by LG and the company is facing problem with the colour accuracy and the life span of the panel.
Kuo claims that only 10 per cent of iPhone owners will order an Apple Watch but the device will do relatively well in the wearable segment. He has estimated a sale of 15-20 million units which does not fall in line with Street consensus of 20-30 million units.
The Apple Watch was launched recently and the company is trying to set up online infrastructure that will avoid long queues outside the brick and mortar stores. The company has big plans with the new device but it will have to deal with the current hindrances to deliver their promises.
