Muar (Johor) – Notably the most senior MIC leader of all, Tan Sri Datuk G.Pasamanickam passed away 12.45 am today morning in Muar, Johor.
He has served as a Vice President of MIC in the past and was the Chairman of MIC Johor State Congress for many years.
He was also a former State Assemblyman and State EXCO member of Johor. Tan Sri Pasam as he was affectionately called, hails from Muar and rose from ranks in MIC. He served under former MIC leaders Tun V.T.Sambanthan and Tan Sri V.Manickavasagam.
Former MIC President Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu, on many occasions had showered praises on Pasamanickam, as the man who guided and supported him during his political struggles.
Pasamanickam is seen with Johor State Assemblyman Asojhan at the New Year celebrations held in Muthu Mariamman Temple in Muar on 22nd April 2016…
Pasamanickam, a nonagenarian, never slowed down despite his departure from active politics and was often seen in party functions.
He was also known for his eloquent speeches in Tamil and for his pleasant disposition and respectful mannerisms even with people much younger to him.
Pasamanickam’s son Dr P.Kannan is one of the notable Cardiologists in the country.
Pasamanickam’s funeral arrangements will be held tomorrow (Tuesday 03.05.2016) from 11.30 am at his house at No.38, Jalan Ibrahim, 84000 Muar, Johor.
