BEAUFORT, March 26 – Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) representing certain races should play a role in uniting the people for common good, said Sabah Community Development and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun(Pic).

She said unity was the bulwark of the nation’s sovereignty against internal or external attempts to divide the people.

Malaysian Idol Audition 2013 here, yesterday.  Earlier, in his speech, Kadazan Dusun Murut Association (KDM) Malaysia president Datuk Peter Anthony proposed that the government to issue a white paper on the Lahad Datu intrusion by Sulu terrorists.

He said KDM Malaysia planned to organise a regional conference on the implication of the Lahad Datu intrusion to Sabah’s security.  At the event, Anthony handed over RM20,000 to the KDM Beaufort’s Education Fund and RM10,000 to the Lahad Datu Heroes Fund.
