KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s wisdom led to the dramatic outcome of the 14th General Election (GE14), according to a new book by veteran journalist M. Krishnamoorthy.
The 170-page-book, titled ‘May 9 – People Power Saves Malaysia: Mahathir Leads the Way’, is the first on GE14 that narrates the journey of Dr Mahathir and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders who played a decisive role in changing the government on May 9.
Krishnamoorthy (pic), who is also a media coach in crisis communication, said the book also featured Dr Mahathir’s role as a master in managing crisis during his appointment that was delayed by five hours.
He also provides tips on how leaders can seize the opportunity during crisis situations through the media, by taking Dr Mahathir as an example.
“Pakatan leaders can learn a lot from Dr Mahathir as he is a master in managing crisis, and there are some tips on how the new ruling party leaders should face the media in building their good reputation.
“This is a heartwarming narrative where Malaysians come together as one and, with a singular voice, they ignited the historic shift,” he said in a statement.
The book, with more than 40 short chapters, also features commentaries by leading journalists and commentators on GE14 as well as academicians and leaders who were quoted on the fall of Barisan Nasional.
‘May 9 – People Power Saves Malaysia: Mahathir Leads the Way’ is the top-selling book, according to the MPH Weekly Bestseller List. It is available in more than 150 bookstores at RM 29.90 each, said a media statement.
