Chennai: Segamat Member of Parliament R. Yuneswaran recently was in Chennai to participate in the ‘World Tamil Diaspora Day’ conference organised by the Tamil Nadu government which was held on the 11 & 12 January 2025 at the Chennai Trade Centre, Tamil Nadu.
Before attending the conference, Yuneswaran visited the 48th Chennai Book Fair on Friday (January 10). During his visit to the book fair, he visited the ‘Yavarum Publishers’ stall, which featured the book ‘Anwar Ibrahim: Prison to Prime Minister’ written by R. Mutharasan about the Malaysian Prime Minister. The book authored by Mutharasan chronicles the political struggles of Anwar Ibrahim and his final triumph to become the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The book was launched in Kuala Lumpur in February 2024.
Yuneswaran expressed his happiness that this book about Anwar Ibrahim’s political struggles has been published by a publishing house in Tamil Nadu, making it accessible to Tamil readers in India and thereby giving them an opportunity to know more about our Prime Minister’s long political journey.
Yuneswaran, who is also a central executive committee member of the PKR party, stated that he would extend his support to promote this book in Tamil Nadu, helping to spread awareness about our Prime Minister’s political work and struggles specifically among Indian Tamil readers.
The Chennai Book Fair, which began on December 27, ended on January 12.
