MAY 25- Samsung Electronics is riding high on the success of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S4 as the device has become the fastest selling Android phone. Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy S3 previously was the fastest-selling Android smartphone.
The South Korean technology firm has claimed that global sales of its Galaxy S4 smartphone have crossed 10 million units in less than a month of its commercial launch. Galaxy S4 went on sale from April 27, 2013.
The company said the S4 reached the landmark faster than its predecessors. Sales of the Galaxy S3 reached the 10-million mark after 50 days of its launch. The Galaxy S2 took five months and the Galaxy S seven months to reach the same milestone.
According to a report, Samsung Galaxy S4 sold twice at the rate of its main rival HTC One.
As the South Korean firm celebrates the success of Samsung Galaxy S4, rumours are doing the rounds about possibility of Samsung Galaxy S5 with some unique and path-breaking features. If the latest tech leaks are to be believed, Samsung Galaxy S5 could be very much in the works and may feature a finger print detection technology.
Given the reputation of the South Korean technology giant for its constant product innovation, what has emerged as a rumour now may turn out to be true in future.
