KUALA LUMPUR, June 7- The prime minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor (photo) today shared Malaysia’s experience in early childhood education and care for children with participants at the Global Summit of Women 2013.
Among others, she said the programme under the Permata Negara initiative, of which she is the patron, contributed in helping young children develop and fulfil their potential.
“Malaysia is lucky to have government leaders who are concerned with issues pertaining to women and children and we’ll continue to draw the government’s attention to address such issues,” she said.
Rosmah said this while taking part in a forum in conjunction with the three-day summit themed ‘Women: Creating New Economies’, which is being hosted by Malaysia for the first time.
The event at a leading hotel here was opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Meanwhile, a summit participant from France, Stephanie Oueda-Cruz viewed the Kuala Lumpur gathering as a must-attend event for every businesswoman aspiring to achieve their goals in business.
“It’s the best platform for us to share success stories and experiences with others with a view to pushing ourselves to go beyond our potential,” said the project manager attached with L’Oreal.
South Africa’s Mpho Mahanyele said the summit would allow women to take stock of global changes in areas like economy, education, social and others and move forward accordingly.
Participants from about 70 countries are taking part in the event in the Malaysian capital.
During its two-decade history, the Global Summit of Women has provided a global platform for women to share ‘what works’ in accelerating women’s economic advancement.
It seeks to expand women’s economic opportunities globally through exchanges of working solutions and craetive strategies forged by women leaders in different parts of the world.
