JULY 6- Not long ago, he was sulking at the elevation of Narendra Modi as the BJP’s campaign committee chief.
But on Friday, BJP veteran L.K. Advani visited the RSS headquarters in Nagpur and said his meeting with its chief Mohan Bhagwat was “very fruitful” for the party and the country.
“Considering that assembly elections will be held in five-six states and the Lok Sabha polls after that, we will bring about change and take the nation in the right direction,” he said after his meeting with Bhagwat and another senior RSS leader Bhaiyyaji Joshi.
“My visit to Nagpur, in terms of the BJP and the country as a whole, has been very fruitful,” he said.
This was Advani’s first interaction with the media since he revolted against Modi’s elevation at the party’s national executive meet in Goa on June 10. He subsequently resigned from all party posts but Bhagwat made him reconsider the decision.
Subsequently, Advani met Bhagwat in Delhi during which he was assured that the RSS would hold regular consultations with him on the affairs of the party.
He said that his meeting was in the context of that assurance and that he had a “good discussion” with Bhagwat.
Advani said he might be a member of the BJP but ideologically he was associated with the Sangh Parivar since the age of 14. “There will be continuous discourse between us,” he added.
