KUALA LUMPUR, July 26- The Education Ministry has no plans to replace the meritocracy system with the quota system, says Deputy Education Minister P. Kamalanathan.
“In line with the government’s decision in 2002, the intake policy of these universities is based on the principle of meritocracy which replaced the racial quota system used previously.
“This meritocracy system is based on 90 per cent marks for academic achievements and 10 per cent for co-curricular participation in calculating the merit points,” he said in reply to a question from Senator Datuk Dr Firdaus Abdullah.
