AUG 2- In an attempt to prevent Congress leaders from making thoughtless statements against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and embarrassing the party, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has banned party leaders from saying anything without an all-clear from two coordinators and that too 24 hours in advance before releasing it to the media.
The war of words between Modi and Congress leaders has often left the party high command embarrassed.
In his recent speeches, Modi, who also heads the BJP campaign committee for 2014 Lok Sabha polls, has been targeting the Congress and the UPA on several issues.
This move of Rahul’s is seen as an attempt to minimise Modi’s role in the Congress agenda for the Lok Sabha polls and prevent him from getting undue media attention following unsavoury remarks by Congress leaders.
