BANGKOK, Aug 2 – People from all walks of life on Thursday evening gathed at Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital, while tens of thousands of well-wishers shouted “Long Live Their Majesties the King and Queen” along Phetkasem Road when they were awaiting to have a glimpse at their beloved monarchs who have left the hospital and headed for the Klaikangwon Palace in seaside Hua Hin district.
Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Veera Sriwattanatrakul told journalists that local officials have beautified the area, including decorating the middle of Phetkasem Road from Hua Hin Airport to the Klaikangwon Palace with national and the Royal flags.
Dr. Udom Kachintorn, Dean of Siriraj Hospital’s Faculty of Medicine, reported that conditions of Their Majesties King and Queen have improved noticeably and they were, thus, allowed to stay at the Klaikangwon Palace for recuperation and for pleasure.
According to the dean, a team of doctors and nurses are accompanying Their Majesties the King and Queen to the royal palace, where necessary medical equipment have already been installed, so have a nearby Hua Hin Hospital.
The King has been admitted to Bangkok’s Siriraj Hospital since September 2009, while Her Majesty the Queen since July 2012.
