Kuala Lumpur, Nov 12 – The rogue security guard who allegedly shot dead an AmBank officer at the bank’s branch in Subang Jaya last month will be charged soon.

The 35-year-old suspect was nabbed last Sunday, at Kampung Belungkor in Kota Tinggi, Johor – 19 days after Norazita Abu Talib, 37, was shot in the face at point-blank range at the bank.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said told Bernama that the man would be charged at the soonest date possible, upon completion of the investigation papers.

He said the police were currently gathering evidence to tie up loose ends and singling out those linked to the RM450,000 robbery on Oct 23.

“He (the security guard) will be charged soon,” he said in a short message service to Bernama Tuesday evening.

Following the arrest of the security guard, the police are now in the midst of picking up his accomplice, known only as ‘Joemar’ who is believed to be in possession of a major portion of the loot.

Yesterday, Khalid had said that Joemar, an Indonesian immigrant, was the rogue security guard’s cohort in planning the heist at the bank.

Following the arrest of the main suspect, the police seized the pump-action shotgun which was used in Norazita’s murder, at a monsoon drain in Jalan Subang 2, Subang Industrial Estate, about 500 metres from the bank.

Also found were three rounds of live ammunition and a spent slug.
