New Delhi, Nov 21 – Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko will pay a state visit to India from Nov 30 to Dec 5 this year.
The imperial couple will visit Delhi and Chennai while in India.
“This is the first time that an Emperor and Empress of Japan will visit India. The visit will immeasurably expand and strengthen India-Japan strategic and global partnership,” the Ministry of External Affairs announced in a statement.
The couple’s visit is at the invitation of President Pranab Mukherjee.
