SEREMBAN, Feb 24 – Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said the MCA needs to discuss with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak the decision of the party to accept government posts at all levels.

“In this matter, there is no problem among us within the Barisan Nasional (BN). I leave it to the MCA to decide and discuss the matter with the Prime Minister.
“This is of course the decision and responsibility of the top leadership. But I know and had time to discuss with MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai much earlier,” he told reporters, here Monday.
He disclosed this when approached after launching the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) of the National Service Training Department (JLKN) at the Seri Perkasa National Service Training Programme, Mantin near here.
The MCA Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) yesterday passed the resolution to accept government posts at all levels, which would pave the way for the party to return to the cabinet.
Hishammuddin said he was also relieved to ‘release’ the Transport Ministry portfolio which he has held for the past several months.
“At least, in the last few months that I led the ministry, we have instituted several methods that we need to look at such as the tragedy on the bus accident at Genting Highlands, the solution to the AES camera, the solution to ensure that the KL International Airport 2 (KLIA2) is completed and the new spirit of the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
“So, we have done a lot at the Transport Ministry and more needs to be looked into in terms of the air space and maritime policies,” he added.
