KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 – Wanita Umno has offered free legal counseling service to staff of Kolej Universiti Insaniah (Kuin) affected by the Kuin management’s failure to pay their salaries for a year, which was against the Labour Act.
Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said the offer was based on humanitarian grounds and to safeguard the rights and welfare of the staff and those in need of support.
“Umno Wanita is closely following the issue which had prompted the victims to stage a demonstration and lodge a police report, and recently, sought the intervention of the Labour department,” she said in a statement here today.
