KANGAR, Feb 16 – The future of the Siamese community in Malaysia will be more secured under the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, said former Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
He said they should give the mandate to BN to continue heading the nation and enjoy all the benefits which had been allocated to them in the past. Speaking at a ceremony to hand over aid to repair houses of six Siamese recipients in Kampung Padang Cheria, near here, last night, he said the Siamese community needed a government which always kept its promises.
Shahidan, who is also State Assemblyman for Tambun Tulang, hoped they would reject attempts by the opposition to seek their support, by sowing sweet promises. He said, all these while, the Siamese community had enjoyed numerous benefits and was confident they would not take any risk during the coming general election.
