Najib to visit Singapore, Iskandar Malaysia in conjunction with Leaders’ retreat

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will undertake an official working visit to Singapore and Iskandar Malaysia, Johor on Feb 18-19, in conjunction with the 4th Malaysia-Singapore Leaders’ Retreat.

images (2)The Leaders’ Retreat is the highest-level bilateral forum for discussion on a range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest to Malaysia and Singapore. According to a Foreign Ministry statement today, Najib and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will take stock of the progress in the existing cooperation, as well as explore new initiatives aimed at further strengthening the already excellent state of bilateral relations between the two immediate neighbours and partners in ASEAN.

Najib and Lee are scheduled to officiate the unveiling of the joint developments Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited in Singapore and Iskandar Malaysia. The joint developments are the Marina One project and DUO project undertaken by M+S Pte Ltd in Singapore, and the Urban Wellness and Resort Wellness projects by Pulau Indah Ventures Sdn Bhd in Iskandar Malaysia.

The statement said Najib would be accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman, a number of Cabinet ministers and senior government officials. A joint statement will be issued following the conclusion of the Leaders’ Retreat.
