vishwas_New Delhi, February 12 – Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas on Wednesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who in the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections, had made personal remarks on AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal by calling him an anarchist and a Naxalite.

“The Prime Minister, in the heat of the campaign, had forgotten that he is the Prime Minister for the entire country and not just for the BJP. People did not accept his negative comments,” Vishwas told NDTV a day after his party’s unprecedented victory in the Delhi polls.

When reminded that he had once praised Modi, Vishwas said he is not a politician and praises the good things about him. “I admired that Modiji went to Siachen for Diwali,” he said. “We do not have any enmity with Modiji. I am not pro-Modi. I am pro-India,” he added.

The poet-turned-politician said he even criticises his boss Arvind Kejriwal when he finds him wrong. “I criticize Kejriwal privately and publicly whenever I need to. Kejriwal encourages it. I criticise AAP too. I have not come here to do politics,” he said.

On the allegation made by AAP mentor Shanti Bhushan that the party had taken money for tickets, Vishwas said, “We had verified if the persons who gave us cheques have legitimate PAN numbers. The timing of the Income Tax Department notice is something only the government can comment on.”

“Shanti Bhushanji is a big sympathiser of ours. He is among the co-founders and is a well-wisher,” he said. The AAP leader called colleague-turned-rival Kiran Bedi his “elder sister”.

“I will apologise to her (for the acrimonious campaign) and invite her (to the swearing-in on Saturday), and will be grateful if she can help with women’s security and law and order,” he said.
