KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 – The Malaysian Ex-Policemen’s Association said today it would abide by the decision of the court in the case of PKR vice-president Tian Chua(Pic) having been charged for uttering seditious words over the Sulu terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
“We will accept the decision of the court in the matter,” said its president, Shafie Bakri.
Tian Chua or Chua Tian Chang, 50, was charged in the Sessions Court today for having uttered the seditious words at No. 62-2-A, Fraser Business Park, Jalan Metro Pudu, off Jalan Yew, here, at about 11 am on March 1. He pleaded not guilty. Meanwhile, the Malaysian Ex-Servicemen’s Association called on the authorities to investigate reports linking certain quarters to the intrusion.
“We hope the government will use its wisdom to investigate so that we will know who is the mastermind,” said its president, Datuk Mohamad Abdul Ghani. Sulu terrorists who had holed up in Kampung Tanduo, Sabah, since Feb 12 ambushed and killed eight policemen on March 1 and 2, prompting the government to launch the “Ops Daulat” offensive on March 5.
Fifty-six terrorists have been killed so far. The security forces suffered eight policemen and two soldiers dead.
