KOTA BAHARU, March 15 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, arrived here this morning to begin a one-day visit to Kelantan. They flew in to the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa at 9.40 am and were greeted by Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, deputy chairman Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin, Kelantan MCA deputy chairman Tan Ken Ten, Kelantan MIC chairman M. Kuppusamy and state leaders of other Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties.
The prime minister then took a helicopter ride to Kuala Krai to attend a
“Leader with the People” gathering at the square of the Kuala Krai Mara Junior Science College.
He is scheduled to go by helicopter to Tanah Merah to attend Friday prayers and a luncheon with the people at Masjid Batu 11 there. He is also scheduled to attend a “Leader with the People” gathering at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tanah Merah 1 at 3 pm. The prime minister will return to Kota Baharu by helicopter to perform the ground-breaking of a People-friendly Housing Scheme in Wakaf Mek Zainab at 5 pm.
Then, Najib will visit the 8th Malaysian Infantry Brigade camp in Pengkalan Chepa to meet the families of two security forces’ personnel who were killed in the “Ops Daulat” offensive against Sulu terrorists in Sabah. Rosmah, meanwhile, is scheduled to visit the same camp to attend a prayer session for security forces’ personnel at 3 pm. Najib and Rosmah will return to Kuala Lumpur later today.
