New Delhi, March 15, 2013-Days after a key accused in December 16 Delhi gangrape-and-murder case allegedly committed suicide in Tihar Central Jail, an under-trial woman was found hanging in her cell in the prison on Thursday.
The female inmate from West Bengal, Reshma, was an accused in a kidnapping case. Her body was found in jail No 6 around 3 pm. According to jail sources, the 30-year-old woman hanged herself with her chunni. Apart from her, two more inmates were lodged in the cell.
Reshma stayed in Delhi’s West Sagarpur area until being arrested in the kidnapping case on November 1, 2011.
Earlier, gangrape accused Ram Singh was found hanging in his cell in jail No 3 in the wee hours on Monday. His parents had suspected foul play even as the jail authorities claimed that it was a case of suicide.
