PUTRAJAYA, 15 Mac – Deputy Home Minister Datuk Wira Abu Seman Yusop(Pic) said the National Registration Department (NRD) must ensure that the personal identification documents issued are of quality and high security level to avoid falsification.
“We must be wary so that there is no falsification of the personal identification documents as this can jeopardise national security and hinder efforts to identify the country’s enemies,” he said.
He said this in his speech at the presentation of the NRD Excellent Service Awards 2012, here today. Also present was the NRD Director-General Datuk Jariah Mohd Said. A total of 337 officers and staff of various grades received the NRD Excellent Service Awards.
At the function, Abu Seman also launched the National Warriors Fund in appreciation of the deeds and sacrifices of the police and military personnel who were killed or injured in operations to protect the sovereignty of the country in Lahad Datu and Semporna, Sabah.
