GEORGE TOWN, March 16 — The Penang Barisan Basional (BN) manifesto for the 13th general election (GE13) has been completed and is only waiting for the right time to be announced to the people in the state.
State BN chairman, Teng Chang Yeow said he would announce the manifesto after the federal government had done so because this had been the tradition of the party.
“We wait for the federal government led by the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) to announce first, then only the state BN will announce. Everything (manifesto) is ready, (I) hope everyone will be patient,” he told reporters after the launching of a programme at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Aman, here today.
Meanwhile, when asked to comment on the action by several non-governmental organisations (NGOsd) that started a commotion when Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president Tian Chua attended a function in the state, he said it showed the immature action by the NGOs for taking the law into their own hand to punish an individual.
In the incident, about 100 members of the NGOs had gathered outside the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling as early as 8pm to protest against the statement by Tian Chua earlier that the intrusion by the Sulu terrorists in Lahad Datu, Sabah was a drama staged by the government to intimidate the people.
