SENAI, March 18 – DAP advisor Lim Kit Siang(Pic) today reiterated the call by the opposition Pakatan Rakyat pact to convene an emergency session of Parliament to discuss the Sulu terrorist intrusion in Lahad Datu, Sabah. The Ipoh Timur MP spoke to reporters upon his arrival at the Senai International Airport here to begin a three-day visit to Johor.
He said the emergency session should be held to raise support from among the people towards the security forces’ efforts in flushing out the terrorists. Eight policemen and two soldiers were killed since March 1 in clashes with the terrorists who have suffered 61 dead.
A government Ops Daulat offensive is ongoing to flush out the remnants of the terrorists who launched attacks in Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu, and Kampung Simunul, Semporna, after having holed up in Kampung Tanduo since Feb 12 and rejecting a negotiated settlement of the intrusion.
