March 19, 2013-There is never a dull moment in the smartphone space. Just three months into 2013, we already have many new smartphones which are pushing the limits as far as specifications are concerned. Some of them are already available in India like the HTC ButterFly, BlackBerry Z10 and Sony Xperia Z. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. Here is a look at some of the smartphones that will interest you in the coming months.
HTC’s love for great design was obvious in its launches last year. So its new ‘One’ too will feature a premium design and a slender 9.3-mm body. A superb 4.7-inch full HD display dominates the front while the 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 2GB RAM takes charge on the performance front. The biggest innovation on the HTC One is its 4MP camera with Ultrapixels, which can offer better pictures than those captured by camera phones with 13 MP sensors.
2. Nokia Lumia 720
This phone is at the top of Nokia’s new announcements. This Windows Phone 8 device will also flaunt the Lumia unibody design. Boasting a 4.3-inch super sensitive touch display, 1Ghz dual-core processor and a removable 2000 mAh battery, this phone will also support wireless charging. The 6.7 megapixel camera with an f/1.9 aperture and LED flash will also be worth the wait. It is expected to be priced in the midsegment.
3. LG Optimus G Pro
This 5.5-inch phablet has got a full HD IPS display with 1920x1080p resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The Optimus G Pro will also have a 1.7Ghz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage with expandable card slot of up to 64GB and a 13 MP auto-focus camera. It will support a micro SIM and have a 3140 mAh battery onboard.
4. BlackBerry Q10
The BlackBerry Q10 smartly blends the physical QWERTY keypad with the new BB 10 operating system. This smartphone has a 3.1-inch super AMOLED display but has done away with the navigation trackpad and the regular menu key. The Q10 packs a 1.4GHz dual-core processor and 2GB RAM. It also has an 8MP camera, BlackBerry Maps, BB 10 browser, 16 GB onboard storage and a 2100 mAh battery. The BB Q10 is likely to be launched in the month of April.
5. Asus Padfone Infinity
Continuing to build on the lineage of the PadFone and PadFone 2, Asus has announced another dockable smartphone/tablet hybrid, the PadFone Infinity. The 5-inch smartphone will dock into a 10.1-inch tablet and will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz along with Adreno 320 GPU. This hybrid also has 2GB RAM and will run Android Jelly Bean. The Phone will have a 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture along with 2400 mAh battery while the Pad will have a front camera and 5000 mAh battery.

6. Apple iPhone 5S/6?
A couple of months more and the wait for the next version of the iPhone will come to an end with Apple expected to announce a new phone in June. While there are many speculations doing the rounds, the latest Apple patents suggest that the new iPhone will predict how to handle itself without inputs from the user. And there are endless rumours about the iPhone having a 5-inch display, quad-core processor, fingerprint scanner, NFC and last but not the least, a laser keyboard. But all we can say is just wait and watch.
7. Samsung Galaxy SIV
In the middle of March, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S IV. While we don’t have the confirmed specifications of the smartphones, rumours suggest the phone will have a 5-inch display, 16 GB onboard storage, 13 MP auto-focus camera and 2GB RAM. Ditching the Exynos Octa processor, Samsung is likely to go for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. It should run on Android Jelly Bean (v4.2) and have a 2600 mAh battery onboard.
