March 20,2013-Nakul made his acting debut in Shankar directorial Boys a decade ago. Since then, he has been part of quite a few films. Now, he is gearing up for Arivazhagan Venkatachalam directorial Vallinam, which is made by one of the top producers in Kollywood.
“Nakul is the most energetic actor both on and off screen. It is this very quality of him that prompted me to cast him in my film Vallinam. Most importantly, the character he essays in the film requires him to be energetic as well,” Venkatachalam told IANS. He plays a basketball player in the film, which as the director puts it, is a sports-drama set against a college backdrop. “It’s a challenging role for which he underwent months of training.
The sport in the film is used to intertwine and narrate different contextual references such as friendship, romance and social awareness,” he added. The film also stars Mrudhula Basker, Atul Kulkarni, Siddharth Jonnalagadda, Amzath Khan, Jagan and Anupama Kumar. Shot predominantly in Madurai and Coimbatore, Vallinam is getting ready for release in April. It is produced by Aascar Ravichandran. SS Thaman has composed the music for the film, which has cinematography by Bhaskar.
