LANGKAWI, March 26 – Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah(Pic) has described the PAS government’s slogan, ‘Kedah Sejahtera Nikmat Untuk Semua’, as merely an empty slogan because they have nothing to show after their five years of administration in Kedah.
He said any development in the state from 2008 until now could be attributed to the BN government in their efforts to ensure Kedah residents were not left behind.
“The (PAS-led) government had promised wellbeing, but we don’t see it. What have they been doing in these five years?
“The people have been complaining about housing problems, job opportunities, development and more. So, what wellbeing are they talking about?” he told Bernama after attending the Langkawi 13th General Election Machinery Programme here today.
He said Kedah people of all levels bemoaned of the situation in the state and the majority of them had expressed their preference for BN to win back the state. BN comes forward with the slogan ‘BN Menang Kedah Senang’, because the coalition wanted only to provide a better life for the people, he said.
At the event, Ahmad Bashah, who is Kedah BN election director, also convened a meeting with Umno and BN component party leaders in Langkawi, including from all divisions and branches, as well as 27 district polling centres.
“The meeting in Langkawi is the third after Padang Terap and Pokok Sena. This is also the final round of meetings with the party machinery,” he said. He said the Kedah BN was now well prepared and that they had met with voters three times so far.
“The people are in good mood and of high spirit. A meeting like this is important to ensure the positive spirit is heightened,” he added.
