29 March 2013-In a dramatic turn of stance, Kajal Aggarwal has said that she felt extremely fortunate to be part of the Tamil film industry. “I feel really great as I’m getting treated like a princess,” Kajal says. It is particularly amusing to hear such words from a girl who had recently said that she would “give it a shit and go back to my caravan” seeing the “royal” treatment given to heroes alone.
Kajal criticized Kollywood directors and producers during an interview she gave to a leading English daily saying that she felt that Tollywood respected heroines on par with heroes whereas in Kollywood, heroes got all the respect and regard while heroines had to look after themselves. Her remarks raised a huge row in Kollywood with veteran director Bharathiraja, who introduced her in Tamil through his Bommalattam, regretting his decision to have introduced such an ‘arrogant’ actress. Kajal reportedly wanted to meet the veteran and explain her position but couldn’t do so.
Though she has done films in Bollywood opposite Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar, Kajal had to initiate some damage-control exercise to sustain her Tamil film career. She has All In All Azhaguraja opposite Karthi and Vijay’s upcoming film after Thalaivaa. The 27-year old actress has even locked lips with her heroes on screen and says she’s ready to do glamour-filled roles provided the script(s) demanded it.
“Personally, I love doing naughty characters as they reflects the real me. I love eating lots of sweets but hav cut done on them in order to maintain my slender frame. I love to be surrounded by Tamil fans wherever I go. I feel like I’m getting treated like a princess and am happy about it,” says Kajal who is trying her best to get more film offers for her younger sibling Nisha Aggarwal.
