KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( MAICCI) has expressed support for the new Bumiputera Agenda proposed by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) that will be able to grow the economic pie for all races and not “rob the rights of the non-Malays”.
Its president, Datuk N. Gobalakrishnan (pic), said “we believe that our Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will recognise the involvement of all races in all sectors of the economy in a fair and just manner to create prosperity together”.
The success of the country depends on a fast-growing and stable economy and it must be ensured that the country’s economy grows well enough so that all the benefits will be enjoyed by all the races, he said when commenting on the statement on the matter by Muhyiddin, who is Bersatu president, at the Bersatu annual general assembly in Putrajaya on Sunday.
The 14th General Election victory of Pakatan Harapan (PH) was due to the support of all the three major races of the country and “we wish to inform that the Indians are the minority in this country and they should be given all the benefits of the country’s prosperity in a fair and just manner to create prosperity together,” Gobalakrishnan said in statement.
“The success of the country depends on a fast-growing and stable economy and we must ensure that the country’s economy grows well enough so that all the benefits of the country’s prosperity will be enjoyed by all the races in this country” Gobalakrishnan further noted in his statement.
