KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 – All members of the security forces mobilised to counter the terrorist incursion in Sabah will be retained to ensure the general election will run smoothly in the state, said Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar(pic).
“The members of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will jointly ensure peace and security during the election,” he told reporters after witnessing the handing over contributions to the families of policemen killed duirng the Ops Daulat offensive against the terrorists, at the Police Training Centre in Jalan Semarak here today.
The contributions amounting to RM10,000 to each of the family was handed over by the Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan on behalf of Yayasan Sultan Kelantan Darulnaim. Meanwhile, Internal Security and Public Order director Datuk Seri Salleh Mat Rashid said a media centre would be opened at the federal police headquarters to facilitate the media once Parliament is dissoved.
