KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 – The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V today contributed RM80,000 through Yayasan Sultan Kelantan Darulnaim Board of Trustees to the eight policemen who died in a battle against Sulu terrorists who intruded Sabah. The contribution was to ease the burden of families who lost their beloved husband or son when defending the country and to appreciate their sacrifice to the nation.
The Yayasan’s chairman Datuk Dr Zainuddin Ibrahim who is also the Kelantan state secretary represented the Sultan to hand over the contribution at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) in Jalan Semarak, here, today in the presence of Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar.
The eight policemen who died since the intrusion on Feb 12, were ASP Zulkifli Mamat, 29, Sgt Sabarudin Daud, 46, ACP Ibrahim Lebar, 52, Cpl Mohd Azrul Tukiran, 27, DSP Michael Padel, 36, Sgt Major Baharin Hamid, 49, Sgt Major Abdul Aziz Sakirun, 48 and Sgt Salam Togiran, 42.
