Pandikar Amin yet to receive letter on dissolution of parliament

Pandikar Amin Mulia,KOTA KINABALU, April 3 – Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia (pic)said he had yet to receive a formal letter on the dissolution of Parliament by Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak until 1pm today.  Pandikar Amin said according to the Constitution, the dissolution of the Dewan Rakyat would come into effect after the prime minister received the consent and a proclamation on the dissolution from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

The proclamation, which will then be signed by the prime minister will be handed over to him as Dewan Rakyat speaker, a copy of which would be delivered to the Election Commission.  The prime minister today announced the dissolution of the 12th Dewan Rakyat to pave the way for the 13th general election.
