PUTRAJAYA, April 3 – The dissolution of Dewan Rakyat announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today will give the people an opportunity to elect a government that can bring about excellence, progress and stability, according to a number of cabinet ministers.
Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr said the 13th General Election (GE13) will give people the opportunity to evaluate and determine the direction and future of the country.
“In his speech, the Prime Minister hinted and hoped that the new government will continue to keep the promise of a strong nation and harmony,” he told reporters after attending the last cabinet meeting here, today.
Rais said the government was firm with its commitment and hopefully the people are on board with the struggle. Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said people of different races are expected to continue to provide a strong support to the BN.
“We are confident the Prime Minister will continue to lead the country towards achieving excellence,” he said. Liow who is also MCA deputy president, said his party was ready to face the election and will work hard to ensure victory for Barisan Nasional (BN).
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said he hoped the election will run peacefully. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom was confident with what has been implemented by the government through the 1Malaysia concept and BN remain confident that the people will make the best decision.
“We pray the BN would be able to achieve victory to continue ruling the country. GOD willing, we are confident that the people can assess which is best,” he said.
Meanwhile, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister, Datuk Seri Noh Omar was confident that the people of Selangor want BN to take over the administration because PKR had failed to keep their promises to bring progress, development and harmony in the state.

Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in the last four years, succeeded in winning back the support of the people, for the BN, especially in Selangor.
“His administration did not only fulfill promises he has made, he also regained the people’s confidence in BN,” he said in a statement here, today.
