Sarawak PKR to contest 12 parliamentary seats

Baru BianKUCHING, April 4 – Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) said today it would contest 12 of the 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak in the coming general election.  Its chief, Baru Bian(Pic), said five of the 12 candidates had been confirmed, and named them as himself (to contest Limbang), Ali Biju (Saratok), Abang Zulkifli Abang Engkeh (Batang Lupar), Abun Sui Anyit (Hulu Rajang) and Roland Engan (Baram).

The seven potential candidates were Nicholas Mujah (Sri Aman), Thomas Laja (Kanowit), Dr Ramblam Rahmat (Kota Samarahan), Andy Wong Hong Yu (Julau), Joshua Jabeng (Selangau), Nicholas Bawing Anggat (Lubok Antu) and Willie Monggin (Mambong), he told reporters after chairing a meeting with all the candidates, here.

“There is no overlapping among us (PKR), PAS or DAP, but there are two or three areas still not finalised because of an overlap with PAS or DAP,” he said of the three parties in the opposition pact.
