KUALA LUMPUR, April 5 – Umno Information chief Ahmad Maslanahmad maslan today said he was confident that Barisan Nasional (BN) could win back 20 parliamentary seats currently held by the opposition in the 13th general election and that it was not a mere rhetoric.  He said BN currently held 140 seats and had high potential to wrestle back five seats from PAS, five from DAP and 10 from PKR.

“I made the analysis myself and I have repeatedly visited certain constituencies to confirm my analysis.

“For example, I have visited Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency 17 times…I’m confident we can win it back,” he told reporters after visiting the polling centres in Bandar Tun Razak and Desa Tun Razak here today.

Ahmad said this in response to former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin’s statement that BN was capable of winning back Kedah and Selangor.  Ahmad also gave 13 reasons on why he was confident that the BN could win in the 13th general election, besides the Prime Minister’s leadership factor.

1. BN’s vast experience as government
2. The well-accepted concept of 1Malaysia
3. BN’s government’s transformation programmes
4. Umno and BN’ strength
5. BN government that has fulfilled its promises
6. BN’s clean leaderships
7. Justice for all
8. BN’s efforts to turn Malaysia into fully-developed and high-income nation
9. BN’s good track records
10. Nationwide development
11. National unity
12. BN government puts people first
13. BN’s ability to take Malaysia to greater heights

In line with the dissolution of Parliament, Ahmad also called on all BN polling centres to carry out its activities without waiting for the nomination day or the campaign period.

He said if all the 23 polling centres in Bandar Tun Razak were to execute their tasks excellently, BN would definitely win back the parliamentary constituency.

“This is the message from the prime minister himself who wants to rescue the constituency which was named after his father,” he added.
