KUALA LUMPUR: Incumbent Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar is hoping for a gentleman’s fight with caretaker Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
“It is going to be a challenge because I am not just going against a minister, but I am going against a Federal Territories Minister who has all the resources,” Nurul Izzah said.
“My only hope is that he does not indulge in political thuggery during the campaigning period and behaves like a gentleman,” she told, after filing her nomination papers at the Sek Keb Bukit Bandaraya Jalan Bangkung, in Bangsar on Saturday.
Raja Nong Chik who is making his electoral debut this GE13 after filing the papers said that he has always been a man who fought fair.
“Personal attacks are not my style,” Raja Nong Chik said. “In fact they are the ones who tend to provoke,” he added.
