IPOH: Campaign material found to be defamatory will be taken down by Election Campaign Enforcement Teams set up in every constituency, said Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof.
“If there is a report lodged by the public about any posters or banners defaming or tarnishing the image of the contesting candidates, the team will convene a meeting and decide whether or not the posters and banners should be taken down.
“Any campaign material which does not display the names of publisher or printer will definitely be taken down,” he told a press conference after visiting the Perak EC office here Monday.
He said the team would monitor all materials put up during the campaign period.
Abdul Aziz said the team comprised a chief appointed by the EC, a police inspector, representatives of the local authority and representatives of each party contesting in the constituency.
