MEDIA STATEMENT BY HIGH COMMISSION OF INDIA, KUALA LUMPUR
In response to the media queries on the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia on the offensive tweets/remarks in India, the Spokesperson of the High Commission of India in Kuala Lumpur said:
“The High Commissioner of India to Malaysia had a meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia in Putrajaya during which concerns were raised with regard to some offensive tweets/remarks made by individuals in India.
High Commissioner conveyed that the offensive tweets / remarks do not, in any manner, represent the views of the Government of India.
Government of India accords the highest respect to all religions.
Strong action has already been taken by concerned quarters against those who made the derogatory tweets / remarks.”
