MaglinKLANG, April 26 – Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kota Alam Shah state seat Datuk Maglin Dennis D’Cruz’s campaign posters have been allegedly torn down and strewn near the Simpang Lima roundabout.

Citing the incident as an unbecoming action allegedly by his political detractors, Maglin, who is also deputy minister of information, communications and culture, said his officer had lodged a report about the incident at the South Klang Police District Headquarters here today.

“The tearing down of candidates’ campaign posters and banners can mar the election process,” he told reporters at the gathering of people at the Sai Baba Centre here last night.  He called for a healthy campaign by political parties in the run up to the polling day of the 13th general election on May 5.

Meanwhile, Maglin said he was meeting residents’ associations in Kota Alam Shah in an effort to address problems faced by the community such as snatch thefts, clogged drains and upgrading of public amenities.  Maglin, who is also People’s Progressive Party senior vice-president, is facing DAP’s V. Ganabatirau (DAP) and two Independents, Loo Hok Chai and L. Pannerselvam.
