KUALA LIPIS, April – The Orang Asli community should not be taken in by the sweet promises made by the opposition as only the Barisan Nasional (BN can look after their welfare, said MIC president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel, He said the opposition was only looking at the Orang Asli as a vote-bank but would neglect them if they achieved their objectives.
“This very much different from the BN government which is always looking into their needs,” he told reporters after taking his campaign to the Orang Asli community living in Jelai here today.
He added that the BN would continue to come up with new initiatives to further improve their wellbeing. Palanivel, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, is the BN’s candidate for the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat in the 13th General Election on May 5.
