PAPAR, April 27 – Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the Barisan Nasional (BN) government would ensure that the less fortunate, including those categorised as hardcore poor, would be a priority in its plans. Musa, who is also the state BN chairman, said if given a new mandate, the BN government would be able to implement the policy based on Sabah’s strong economic performance.
“We are on the right track, we (Sabah) have the best financial management. This is not a lie but the truth…which means both the federal and state governments are on the right track,” he said at a gathering with the people in Kampung Seberang Benoni, here, today.
Musa said it was also proven that the Sabah government was able to increase its financial reserves to a very healthy level, as a result of systematic and sound financial management. He said the state government would also endeavour to create more employment opportunities for the local residents.
“Towards this end, efforts to attract more domestic and foreign investors to invest in Sabah will be intensified,” he said.
Musa spent the day visiting several districts including Sipitang as part of his 13th general election campaign trail. Deputy Health Minister Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin will be defending her Papar parliamentary seat against Sylbester Balon Mujim from the Sabah Reform
Party (STAR) and Datuk Yahya Lampong (Parti Keadilan Rakyat) in the elections. The constituency has 35,771 voters. Its two state seats are Kawang and Pantai, with the incumbents from BN being Datuk Ghulam Haidar Khan and Datuk Abdul Rahim Ismail respectively.
