TAWAU, April 30 – Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Musa Aman is confident that BN will form a new government after the 13th general election.
Musa, who is also Sabah Chief Minister, said his confidence was based on the overwhelming public response throughout the state during visits by BN state and national leaders including Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, through the leader-meet-people programmes.
“I’ve gone all over Sabah…to Keningau, Tenom, Sipitang, Beaufort, Sandakan, Beluran and many more. I could feel the people’s very warm, cheerful reception. InsyaAllah (God willing), we (BN) will again form the government,” he said at a gathering with the Chinese community, here, today.
Musa said the Sabah people’s continued support for BN showed their wisdom in evaluating and determining the kind of government leadership they wanted to look their interests.
He said the BN government’s policies and the various initiatives introduced by the prime minister had clearly benefited the people directly, which was a factor for the strong support for BN under Najib’s leadership and he hoped this would continue.
Musa said Najib was a good planner and a compassionate leader, hence the longstanding good relations between the state and federal governments must be preserved in the interest of Sabahans through the huge allocations from the federal government to the state.
He admitted that this good relations and the billions of ringgit in annual allocations for Sabah had facilitated the state’s development which could be enjoyed by all levels of its multi-ethnic society. On another note, Musa said the important contribution of the Chinese
community to the economic development of Sabah and Malaysia in general could not be denied and he hoped they would support the BN government, which was always sensitive to the need of creating a conducive business environment.
When attending a programme in Balung, Musa called on the people to reject the opposition bloc as they were only good at making empty promises, to the extent that many individuals in a Pakatan Rakyat-ruled state were suing the government over its unkept promises.
