Massage can help the muscles to relax and temporarily soothe your body ache. Taking a warm bath, or using a heating pad on the area most affected by the night time body aches can also have the same effect.

Stretch

After your warm up, your muscles need to be stretched. If you are going for a walk or jog you need to stretch your legs. If you are doing an upper body workout then you need to stretch your shoulders, neck and upper back. Don’t bounce in the stretch and hold it for 15 to 20 seconds. Stretch each muscle at a time. Bouncing or trying to stretch too far will soothe your body ache.

Reframe Your Mind

Reframing the way you think of your pain is easy and it shows you that your outlook about life has a lot to do your perception of pain. Pain is simply a form of communicating information within your body. You may say to yourself, “My back hurts, I have weak knees, they stop me from doing things and this gets me down.” What you are doing is letting yourself know you have all of these problems. By focusing on the problems, you are actually reaffirming a negative cycle. Reframing helps break that cycle and this will soothe your night time body ache.

Take in Protein

To soothe your night time body ache take protein. Our muscles are hungry after exertion. They crave protein. Choose natural sources of protein such as fish, lean meats, nuts, lentils and quinoa.

Soak in a Tub

A warm bath cures many ills, and always helps relax stiff muscles. You’ll also sleep better after a bath and it helps you to awake refreshed. Alternate water temperatures every couple minutes, to open up your blood vessels. These are some easy ways to relax your muscles and ease night time body aches.
