With him were Pandan voters Seok Leong Yew and Sivaprakasam a/l S N Karuppiah, who today complained of unknown individuals being registered as voters at their respective homes in Taman Dagang.

“I received these slips of voter information in my post box early this morning. I don’t know who they are so I straight away complained to the polling agents,” said Sivaprakasam.

The three voter slips Sivaprakasam received had the BN logo and contained details of Chinese voters with his home address, despite the fact that he had lived in the house since 1999.

Meanwhile, Seok had received similar slips of four Chinese strangers apparently living under his roof without his knowledge, and immediately lodged a complaint to polling agents earlier this morning.

“Our polling agents were immediately on alert, so when one of the men addressed to Seok’s house went to vote, our agents quickly objected to it,” Rafizi told reporters here before lodging the report.

“This guy — Chen Yew Fai — ran away without voting. We were unable to catch him.”

Rafizi said he strongly suspected the strangers registered to the two voters’ house were phantom voters, and wondered aloud how many houses they were registered to.

“We are highly suspicious that these are phantom voters.

“How can you have multiple people registered under the same address? How were they registered to these houses in the first place?”

He said this incident increased his fear that the indelible ink was washable to allow for phantom voters such as Chen cast their ballots multiple times.

But Rafizi warned the public not to take the law into their own hands should they stumble upon suspicious voters.

“We have asked our agents to just take a copy of their IC and their photo. We do not want any problems or give any reason for the Election Commission to dismiss our complaints due to the way we handled the phantom voters.”

He also added that as of now, in Pandan alone, there had been cases of indelible ink washing off and reports of ballot papers not being stamped.

Meanwhile, DAP’s Teratai candidate Tiew Way Keng will also lodge a police report today over a voter who allegedly admitted to her he flew in from Sabah last night just to vote here.

“The guy showed us his IC which said that his name was Mazlan, but somebody had already seen his face on Facebook previously where his name is Ramesh,” she told reporters.

“I showed him my hand phone with that picture and asked him three times [if this was him]. He said yes. Then I asked why he has two different names and he admitted [that] he just got his IC last year and that he flew in from Sabah last night.”

She said “Mazlan” also admitted to her the address on his IC was not his.

“We are lodging a report with the police and the EC [later]. I am now heading to Taman Segar as there is another case.”
