KUALA LUMPUR: DAP has announced that it will support PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim to become the opposition leader.
Speaking at a press conference today, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang it was in line with the party’s commitment to install Anwar as the prime minister should Pakatan Rakyat win Putrajaya.
“So I would like to propose for Anwar to lead us. He should lead Pakatan, whether in waiting or Putrajaya,” said the Gelang Patah MP.
In yesterday’s poll, Pakatan denied Barisan Nasional its two thirds majority at the parliament again by winning 89 parliamentary seats.
DAP won the lion’s share of the seats by gaining 38 seats, with PKR and PAS winning 30 and 21 seats respectively.
