GEORGE TOWN, May 15 — Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan Jaganathan, chairman of the Penang People’s Progressive Party (PPP) named as Deputy Federal Territories Minister is one of the two pioneer non-MIC appointments in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s new cabinet line up today.
Loga Bala Mohan, who will also be appointed as a senator, expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for entrusting him with the post and viewed it as a heavy responsibility to elevate the socio-economic status of the Indian community.
“I thank the Prime Minister for his confidence in me. I will work hard with the rest of the line up towards his aim of propelling the country to further heights,” he told Bernama.
The balanced administration announced by Najib included six Indian representatives – two ministers and four deputy ministers.
The Penangite did not contest in the 13th General Election however.
Born on April 3 1966, he completed secondary schooling at Sekolah Tinggi Bukit Mertajam and obtained an LLB (Honours) from Kings College, University of London, United Kingdom in 1987.
In 1997, he was conferred a Doctorate in Philosophy from the Pacific Western University, United States.
